MC5 is hitting the road in 2018 and kicking it all off on September 5th in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Formed in 1964, MC5 was is a rock band from Lincoln Park, MI. The band consisted of Rob Tyner, Wayne Kramer and Fred “Sonic” Smith, Michael Davis, and Dennis Thompson. The MC5’s leftist political ties and anti-establishment lyrics and music positioned them as emerging innovators of the punk movement in the US. Their loud, energetic style of back-to-basics rock and roll included elements of garage rock, hard rock, blues rock, and psychedelic rock. MC5 were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 2002, 2016 and 2018.
