Twenty One Pilots is out on tour in 2018 and kicking it all off on October 16th in Nashville, TN at Bridgestone Arena.

They will be out in support of their 2018 album, TRENCH.

Like many rock and electronic acts this past decade, Twenty One Pilots carved out their own niche before finding major label success. The band, with a pop-rock style influenced by electronic music, was formed in 2009 by front man Tyler Joseph, Josh Dun, and some friends from college in Columbus, OH. Joseph picked the name of the band after being inspired by the plot of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons”. The group self-released a self-titled debut album that same year.

Gaining a modest following resulted in multiple major labels courting them, with the group deciding on Fueled by Ramen, an Atlantic Record subsidiary. Marking their major label turn was the Three Songs EP in 2012. Their full-length third album Vessel, produced by Greg Wells (Adele, Katy Perry), came out the next year. With all that power behind their major label releases, Twenty One Pilots saw Vessel reach No. 58 on the Billboard 200, while single “Holding on to You” became their first charting track, at No. 11 on the Alternative charts.

A handful of tours increased their profile, including headlining with the Neon Trees and Walk The Moon and opening for Fall Out Boy. So, by the time their next major album Blurryface came out in 2015, the release shot to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, while their third single “Stressed Out” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

To continue capitalizing off that success, Twenty One Pilots started their own “Emotional Roadshow World Tour” and contributed a song to the Suicide Squad soundtrack.
