Joan Baez is hitting the road in North America in 2018 and kicking it all off on September 11th in Ithaca, NY.
She will be out in support of their new album, Whistle Down the Wind.
Born in 1941 in Staten Island, NY, Joan Baez is a folk singer, songwriter, musician, and activist whose contemporary folk music often includes songs of protest or social justice. Over her career she has recorded albums in multiple languages and composed songs with bands such as The Rolling Stones, Pete Seeger, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan. She became popular during the 1960’s and the counterculture. He music is mostly centered around social issues.
Her first three albums made Baez an international name in music. All three albums reached the gold record status. Songs like “Diamonds & Rust”, “There but for Fortune” and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” allowed Baez to sell out venues from coast to coast on a regular basis. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
