Blake Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma in 1976. Shelton started out performing in honky-tonk bars and local country music shows. His turning point came when Mae Boren Axton, a songwriter, visited his town. Mae advised Blake to bring his guitar to Nashville, and he packed his bags as soon as he graduated high school. The young artist released his first album, Blake Shelton (which featured the single “Austin”).
He is a seven-time Grammy Award nominee. Shelton was previously married to country music star Miranda Lambert, however, after their divorce in 2016 has begun dating fellow judge on The Voice and music artist Gwen Stefani.
Blake Shelton has become one the nation’s top country music arts and wears many hats. From his work as an artist, to his performances on tour, to his judging and mentoring on The Voice, Blake Shelton has become a marketing juggernaut.
Blake Shelton has produced fifteen number one hits, including his breakout song “Austin.” To date, Blake Shelton has released a total of ten albums. He has also performed on numerous tours.
