Born in 1949, Rick Springfield is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, actor and author. He started off his career as a member of the pop rock group Zoot from 1969 to 1971, then started his solo career with his début single “Speak to the Sky”. He moved to the US in 1972.
In 1981, Springfield released his No. 1 hit “Jessie’s Girl” in 1981. He received a Grammy Award for “Best Male Rock Vocal Performance” the single. He kept releasing more hits in the early 80’s with songs like “I’ve Done Everything for You”, “Don’t Talk to Strangers”, “Affair of the Heart” and “Love Somebody”.
In the early to mid 90’s Springfield tried his hand at acting. He starred in the television series High Tide, from 1994 to 1997, and has appeared in supporting roles in Ricki and the Flash and True Detective.
