David Yoakam was born in Pikeville, JY in 1956. Yoakam briefly attended Ohio State University, but dropped out and moved to Los Angeles in 1977 with the intent of becoming a recording artist. He is a singer-songwriter and actor, most famous for his pioneering country music. He has sold more than 25 million records and charted more than thirty singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. He also is an accomplished actor in films such as Panic Room, Sling Blade, Bloodworth, Bandidas, and Wedding Crashers.
